Core terms
| Term | Public-safe definition | Status |
|---|
| Koda | A local-first operating-environment research programme combining interfaces, tools, evidence and human authority. | Current |
| Workshop | The desktop operational-interface direction for presenting state, plans and evidence. | Current |
| Forge | Project language for governed construction, experimentation and evidence-oriented work; not an autonomous actor. | Current |
| Shard | A prototype interaction object intended to communicate state and attention without conventional application chrome. | Current / prototype |
| Core Shard | The primary Shard-family presence object explored in bounded runtime and visual work. | Prototype |
| Shard Field | A proposed workspace of related Shards; not established as an implemented public capability. | Planned |
| Organ | A bounded subsystem responsible for one capability, such as telemetry, scheduling or evaluation. | Current |
| Nano Node | Project terminology for a specialist small-model or model-adjacent research direction; not a claim of a deployed model fleet. | Research |
| Control Organ | A proposed bounded coordination role; its authority remains constrained by explicit human governance. | Planned |
Evidence and operations
| Term | Public-safe definition | Status |
|---|
| Evidence | A recorded result, test, decision or source that supports a bounded claim and its limitations. | Current |
| Gate | A defined decision point that limits what work may proceed and records pass, tuning, blocked or no-go outcomes. | Current |
| Canon | The current authoritative interpretation of project state, distinguished from historical or superseded material. | Current |
| Project State | Structured records used to preserve status, relationships and review context. | Current |
| External Memory | Evidence-backed records used to retain project context outside transient conversation. | Current |
| Observatory | The local observation and analysis direction; public description remains read-only and non-sensitive. | Partial |
| Living Activity Timeline | A timeline-oriented view for relating observed activity and records while distinguishing live state from replay. | Partial |
| Sealed result | A recorded result whose stated boundary, source integrity or access condition is deliberately preserved. | Current |
Historical and restricted terms
| Term | Meaning in this journal | Status |
|---|
| Fenryr / JARVIS | Earlier project identities retained only as historical lineage; they are not current Koda branding or current capability claims. | Historical |
| Veil | Project-specific terminology with insufficient public-safe implementation context for a system claim. | Restricted |
| Ragnarok | Historical or internal terminology not used as a public current-system claim without a dedicated evidence and safety review. | Historical |
| Experimental branch | A bounded line of work that must not be confused with a current canonical capability. | Current term |
| Dormant branch | A retained research direction with no current implementation authority. | Current term |
